Damascus Commandery #1 Knights Templar Newsletter and Updates May 2009 Fraternal Greetings and Knightly Salutations! First let me start by apologizing for the lateness of this
report. We have been so busy, that I kept putting this off until we had a
slow period, which still eludes us! Beginning with the election and installation of Sir Knight
Todd Jovonovich, our Commandery year got off to a great start with our
annual Acacia Cemetery Honor Guard Detail. Although we were dark for the
Summer, your officers were busy with petitions and promotions, and we
started the Fall with a set of orders for nine companions. In January, we
dubbed and created the following; SK Monte Miller SK Sean Gardiner SK Frank Paterson SK Keith Feldbrugge SK John Keske SK Warren White SK David McCormick SK Stephen O'Day We also had the affiliation of Sir Knight Carlos Jackson,
past-commander of Alta Commandery #1 Prince Hall Knights Templar. In the middle of this set of orders, we found ourselves
with many request to perform Flag Presentations for various installations
around the metro area. SK Rich Gilchrist, with a devoted group of sir
knights, coordinated and executed nine presentations. We are currently in the middle of another cycle of orders,
but that didn’t stop us from holding our annual elections. The following
officers were elected for the year 2009-2010; Captain General-SK Richard Gilchrist Senior Warden-SK Douglas Wyman Treasurer-SK David Seitz Recorder-SK Raymond Hayward Appointed; Sword Standard Warder-SK Sean Gardiner Inspection Ritual Master- SK Raymond Hayward We are currently scheduled to confer the Order of the We have the Installation scheduled for Tuesday, May 12th,
and Acacia Cemetery Honor Guard for Memorial Day. Muster at 9:30 AM,
ceremony at 10:00AM. On behalf of our out-going commander, SK Todd Jovonovich,
and our in-coming commander, SK Terry Christiansen, come to a commandery
meeting, re-introduce yourself, and be a part of the excitement, fellowship,
ritual, education, and tradition that is Damascus Commandery #1, your
commandery. Humbly submitted, SK Ray Hayward, Recorder
